May 24,2018 This is Daisy May recently bailed from a kill pen by a kind soul and we were contacted to intervene and give her a place to land.
Update May 2019
Daisy was foster by Coy Brook Farm for the summer and
we are proud to say she has been adopted by a
wonderful family for their little boy.
Teddy aka Theodore Roosevelt
Our recent success stories occured this summer (2019}....
Harvey, our sweet, white donkey, found a forever home and at the same time a new sibling, another white donkey. It was definitely meant to be.
Teddy found his forever home with his foster mom, Robin, and now resides at Maushop Equestrian Center. He is a fan favorite at the barn and gets lots of attention from everyone who goes there.
Both Harvey and Teddy are well loved and cared for and hope their friends at Mills River Rescue find their forever homes as well.
Hallie had previously been at auction with her mom until a kind man saved them both, in time she found herself here, at Mills River Rescue. Hallie had been here the longest out of everyone.
We worked with her and worked with her until she at last found her forever home in December, 2018 with a loving family,
When this beautiful boy was bailed from a kill pen and brought to us he was just 36 hours from being put on the truck to slaughter .
Leo is doing so well since he was saved from being sent to slaughter!
He has had lots of love, good food and care here. . Leo is really such a good boy .
March 2019~ Beautiful Leo who has blossomed since being saved has been adopted ,

Beautiful Minnnie Pearl to the left and and Bobbie Joe on the right came to us under special circumstances ~ as minis in need several months ago . We have been working to get them all confident. not shy and use to having halters put on them. They have been making steady progress
As of MAY 21,2018 we are delighted to say that Minnie Peal and Bobbie Joe were adopted and both went to the same loving home !
Millie came to us with 3 other ponies all in need of a home. Their previous owner had back issues, and taking care of so many ponies was getting difficult for him. As much as it broke his heart he did the right thing and gave the ponies to us before he could not take care of them.
After spending a little time at the rescue, Millie was scooped up by a loving family and now has a forever home!
Sweet Brodie found his forever home!
He has a new horse friend and a family that dotes on him !
Albert was our first slaughter rescue.
This poor baby almost didn't make it, but he got lucky and now he has found his forever home!
His new owner adores him. His new name is Sammy.
Congratulations Sammy !!
Charlee also found a loving family!
She even gives the youngest family member little rides.
We are so happy for you Charlee!
Sweet senior rescue pony Connie
found her forever home in Carver MA and has a loving new home and best friend pony to play with.
