Mills River Pony Adventure Camp 2026
Mills River Pony Adventure Camp is a specialized, hands-on day camp held at Mills River Rescue and Sanctuary in Marstons Mills, MA. The program focuses on providing an immersive experience where children can connect with and care for rescued animals in a safe, educational environment.
The camp is designed around the sanctuary’s mission of rehabilitation and compassion, offering unique activities that go beyond traditional riding programs.
Sparkle Pony Spa Day- is going to be the most refreshing, splashy day of the whole camp! Since summer will be a hot one, everyone is going to stay cool and wet while we give the ponies a total “glow-up”. Children will learn how… Properly groom a pony with the equipment needed Scrub a pony clean with bubbles and water Learn to braid pony hair and adorn them with beautiful ribbons and flower Show off your pony in a Grand Pony Parade
Little Hooves Game Day- It’s all about the giggles, the games, and giving back to our amazing rescue family. Come ready for a day of outdoors adventure where every “win” helps support a pony in need. Games include: Paddock Obstacle Relay Pool Noodle Pony Run Sanctuary Scavenger Hunt Pony-Head Cornhole Challenge
Creative Corral Craft Day- is a farm inspired theme where creativity runs as wild as a herd of ponies. The day focuses of celebrating our four-legged friends through colorful, hands-on artistic projects including 2 of the following: Pony-bead Wind Chimes Pony Charm Beaded Necklaces Rock Garden Painting Watercolor Pony and Donkey Portraits Pony Painted Hoof Prints
Vet Pals at the Farm- offers children a unique, hands-on opportunity to step into the boots of a veterinarian. Guided by experienced volunteers with vet and doctor experience, campers will learn the scientific and practical skills required to keep these animals healthy. Children will learn how to listen to a pony’s heartbeat, age them by their teeth, hoof health, and the anatomy of a horse and donkey.
Fairy Wings and Unicorns- is a whimsical adventure designed for dreamers and animal lovers alike, set right in the heart of our peaceful rescue farm. The day of enchantment includes: *Fairy house building were children scour the farm for nature items to construct a woodland home for fairies who visit our sanctuary. *Meeting Sparkles the Unicorn will be the highlight of the day. Get up close and personal with our famous unicorn friend, Sparkles, for a meet-and-greet that will take your breath away.
Feathered Explorers- Get ready to swoop into a day of discovery. Feathered Explorers is an immersive farm-themed day designed to connect children with the fascinating world of our avian friends. From learning how to care for our feathered friends to egg-geneering, children will meet the flock and learn about their “superpowers” from specialized beaks to protective feathers. The day ends with The Great Hayloft STEM Challenge-an engineering challenge to protect an egg from cracking when dropped from our hay loft!
Click here to contact us to register now. There will be limited slots available and will fill up fast! Drop off is 10:00am and pick up is promptly at 2:00pm. Campers bring a lunch each day and a water bottle. The camp is supervised by retired teachers, vets, and our rescue owner and other volunteers.
The cost per day is $85 which includes all supplies. A non refundable deposit of half the total amount will be required at registration. If you pay in cash there will be a $5 discount per day. Balance will be due on the first day of camp.
Camp runs rain or shine so campers need to dress appropriately. Children should wear closed toe shoes: no crocs or sandals please! Sneakers are the best!
